I got some sad news this weekend, so I was feeling reckless. Does that ever happen to you? Suddenly I realized that my hair was down to my waist, and since I would be cutting off a good bit anyway, I decided to cut A LOT off to donate to Locks of Love.

And my oh my, I haven’t had hair this short since college. It’s not Adult Laura hair, it’s College Laura hair. I’m not going to lie guys, I’m not a huge fan. This is not a plea for compliments, it is just the doggone truth. I don’t really regret it, as hopefully my hair will help some kid out in a rough time. But I really can’t wait for my hair to grow back. I think this was more a case of hair punishment than hair therapy for some reason.

Definitely preferring curly to straight, but my face is right on here:

In college I made one of my best hair decisions ever: bangs. I also made a couple of terrible mistakes: trying to cut my own bangs instead of going to a stylist. Yeah, I did that twice. And then since finding my favorite (and cost-friendly) stylist in New York, who encouraged me to grow my hair out, I think I’ve essentially had the same great haircut ever since, for 5 wonderful years. Don’t try to fix what ain’t broken, folks.

How often do you really change your hair? When was the last time you had an unsatisfactory haircut? Why couldn’t I have just gone to a kickboxing class instead?

I think you just didn’t get it cut short enough. I also got my hair cut by the same stylist who is constantly telling me to cut my hair shorter, so I let him and I don’t think I’ll be going back to long hair for a very long time, maybe never!

I disagree. Maybe this seems college-y to you, but I like it. You’re clearly more of a hair expert than I, but this looks good to me.
